How many weddings do you shoot per year?
An average of 10-15 per year. I've done more, I've done less, and this is the perfect number for me to be able to offer a boutique experience to all of you. This means dates are limited, so if you're interested, be sure to get in touch soon.
How do you describe your work?
Words that come to mind are natural and organic, with a hint of editorial. I like to show the real you, the goofy you, the stylish you, the serious or shy you, the emotional you, the happy and in love you. I'd like to think of my editing style as timeless and honest.
How many images will I receive?
Every wedding varies but the average is about 900+ images for an eight hour event. I like to make sure everyone in attendance is captured & that you have a nice variety of images covering your details, portraits & candid moments. A wedding day photography timeline will be designed, but ultimately the more time we allow for wedding day portraits, the more variety and more images.
Portrait sessions also vary depending on what we're shooting. Let's just say you get way more than you expect since I have a hard time hitting the delete button.
When can I see my images?
I will have your images ready as soon as possible since the anticipation builds quickly! Often, wedding images are ready in as soon as 3-4 weeks but may take up to 6 weeks. Portrait sessions can take about 2-3 weeks. You will get an email notifying you when the images are available in your online gallery along with directions of how to access them.
What do we wear to our engagement session?
If I had to pick, I would say a casual, everyday outfit and a date night outfit. Try on what you have in mind and see how it coordinates with each other. Will you love the look in a year from now? 10 years from now? Keep it simple and true to your own tyle. You can check out my Pinterest for inspiration if you need some. I'll be sending a prep guide to help you with anything you need.
I’m not sure if I want an album or other products now. Can I order that later?
Absolutely. It is never too late to order products and I am happy to design them when you are ready. Just keep in mind that specific products are subject to change from year to year.
Do you travel?
All the time. With a current passport and an appetite for new places to photograph, I could never limit where I shoot.
Can I see a portfolio of your work?
Always! My portfolio can be viewed throughout this website and my blog. It is important to see more than just a handful of favorite images from one wedding or session, so I have online galleries where you can preview entire wedding coverage at any time, just ask! When meeting in person, I have examples of all my products and prints, so you can see more of my work in person.
What is the cost to have you shoot our wedding?
Contact me for a current package of information. Full day wedding coverage begins at $3999.
Are you insured?
I’m getting married at a very unique location or one where you haven’t photographed yet…
When I book a wedding a new location, I take all steps to become fully acquainted with the venue and staff. I will either arrange a visit before the wedding or arrive to the venue(s) at least a few hours ahead of time on the day of the wedding to scout out the best spots.
What can I expect on the day of my wedding?
On your big day, I will arrive early to scout each location. Even if I have visited before, surroundings can change come wedding day and I want to be as familiar as possible. Once I start shooting, my camera never leaves my hands. During your ceremony, I try to be very subtle and use appropriate lenses to stay out of the way of your guests. They want to see you, not my back. When taking large group portraits, I will arrange traditional portraits but then loosen everyone up for some more relaxed shots as well. I like lots of variety, conversation and laughing. I know family portraits aren't everyone's favorites but that's usually because they are associated with standing in one place for a long time and smiling until it's a forced smile. I want you to enjoy every part of your time spent with me and I love changing people's perception of group portraits. Every aspect of your day should be fun...if its not, I can't do what I do best. So long as we are spending time together, I will always keep a positive and easy atmosphere.
Throughout the day, I will step in when I need to direct a shot but mainly I am documenting your day as it happens. I like to make people feel comfortable in front of my camera to create the most natural pictures. When I’m not shooting portraits, I am constantly walking around, scanning the crowd, looking for details & photographing all the things you will look back & say “No Way! I completely forgot about that!” The most common comment I get from guests is, “Do you ever take a break?” & the truth is nope... as long as people are having a good time, I’m shooting!
I'm very easy-going but I certainly get the job done. As your photographer, I must remain flexible to any spontaneous changes to scheduling and will always make it work!
What is Boudoir?
Webster's defines it "a woman's dressing room, bedroom or private sitting room." Boudoir portraiture is capturing the intimacy of such a setting. It's an incredibly empowering session to experience since all women have their insecurities, and these images show you in a whole new light. I'm able to capture you in a way you rarely get to see yourself. Usually, these sessions are booked as a (fabulous) gift for that special someone and then turn into even more of a gift to yourself. It's one of the most rewarding types of portraiture I do since the variety of women I have photographed come from all walks of life, all shapes and sizes and most importantly, are conquering their inhibitions to celebrate how truly beautiful they are in a photograph. My boudoir work is sultry, sexy, simple and most importantly, tasteful.
